One to One Yoga Therapy Sessions: Stress, Anxiety, Eating problems.

As well as being a yoga teacher I have over a decade of experience working as a Counsellor in the UK, both in GP surgeries and as a Specialist Eating Disorders Counsellor in Psychology Services. I’ve also worked as a Student Counsellor and at Victim Support. I recently completed an Advanced Yoga For Trauma Training on top of numerous other trainings in Yoga for Stress and Anxiety.

But perhaps more importantly, I have also experienced the effects of stress and anxiety myself and as a teen I suffered from Anorexia and Bulimia Nervosa. I feel that going through these difficulties and overcoming them has given me the opportunity to give back to others in a unique and profound way.

I believe that the vast majority of us, to varying degrees, have become badly disconnected: from our bodies, from ourselves, and from what we truly value. However, there are powerful ways that we can re-connect. If you’ve been battling with your body it’s unlikely that you have ever turned to it as a tool for learning. Discovering how to learn FROM your body will give you an entirely new relationship to your body and will teach you how to develop true self-care in the process.

These 1:1 sessions provide a holistic approach to addressing these issues and combine the knowledge and experience I’ve gained from counselling with the tools and techniques I have learned from yoga.

I had a 1:1 yoga session for stress and anxiety with Louise as I knew I was going down a slippery slope. I was nervous walking through the door but immediately Louise put me at ease. I found Louise’s kindness, empathy and non judgement made it very easy to open up. On top of that I found her knowledge of the scientific reasons around why I was feeling the way I was incredibly reassuring. I realised from the session how important it is to have deep connections in life but more importantly to remember to have self-compassion. I would hand on heart recommend doing a 1:1 yoga session with Louise – it truly felt like I was coming out of a spa for my mind. I was physically and mentally more relaxed going home and that night I slept for 8 hours for the first time in weeks. Thank you Louise.
